Richard Cutting has been signed to play the role of Dirk Mendelson in the independent film Desperate Measures, set to film in North Carolina in September, 2011.

Continuing his roll in noir thrillers and actioners, Richard plays a gambler in this tale of violent revenge. Mendelson is a gambler who becomes a reluctant father figure to the main character Victor James. Dirk’s gambling debts to Randall Smith, a cagey gambling operator with a tight grip on his games, precipitate events that quickly spiral out of control. More info as production starts.

New trailers and teasers are up for some of Richard’s recent roles.

In The Weather’s Warm When The Sun’s Hot, Richard plays a crazed mortgage banker in this intriguing and beautifully-shot independent film by Andrew Fitzgerald.

A young mortgage banker, Laurence leaves his job and takes off to the west coast with a rogue drifter named Walrus. Laurence begins to see striking similarities in Walrus’ schemes, the world he left behind, and must face the realities of greed, spending, and attachment once they are lost in the desolate wilds of the American southwest.

In Garden Of Hedon, Richard plays the lead role of Owen Grey, a detective who wakes up next to a dead body in a house where time stands still and murders he must solve keep coming.

Kangas Kahn Films, LLC has announced that Richard Cutting has been cast in the lead role of Owen in its next film, Garden of Hedon.

Garden of Hedon is a mystery/horror about a detective, Owen Grey, who wakes up in a surreal house where every pleasure is indulged. Drugs. Sex. Gambling. It’s all there and more…including murder. It’s going to be a mix of giallo and fantastique, with a healthy does of American mystery.

The World Music and Independent Film Festival announced that Richard Cutting has been selected as a nominee for Best Supporting Actor for his work as Priest Peterson in Change Is Coming. The Award Ceremony will be a red carpet event at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC on August 21, 2010.

May 12, 2010

The Grave has been selected for exhibition at the Long Island International Film Expo. In this period mystery/horror, Richard plays the enigmatic Blackstone.

Richard has been busy. This Time Tomorrow and Origin are now in post.

Production has begun on Feet Of Destiny in which Richard plays Trevor Dillon, the Head Coach from Belfast in this soccer biopic based on the life of Jay-Jay Okocha.

Richard has been busy shooting independent films in the first quarter of 2010. Shot Same Time Tomorrow and Origin in March. Will begin Feet Of Destiny in April. More on these projects as links become available.

Richard is currently working on a great-looking new feature film entitled The Weather’s Warm When The Sun’s Hot.

Written and directed by new Indie talent Andrew Fitzgerald, the film follows Laurence, a young mortgage broker who faces an existential crisis as he climbs the ladder of success. Richard plays Thompson, his troubled boss. The film is shooting in Philadelphia.


All My Children has called Richard back and booked him for another U/5 to shoot this month.


Over the past several months Richard has done key roles in several other films . . .


The Grave, shot on Long Island in February.

And
Change Is Coming, shot in Washington, D.C.


March 31 saw the DVD release of the Western One-Eyed Horse (re-titled as Come Hell Or High Water), and available nationwide. International distribution was announced in late August. Watch a scene from Come Hell Or High Water here !
